A Meaningful Anniversary: Honoring Our Augustinian Roots

As we mark the anniversary of Pope Leo XIV’s election, we are especially proud to share a milestone in the life of our school community.

Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School has joined the Augustinian Secondary Education Association (ASEA), a national network of schools united by the values of Vertias, Unitas, and Caritas. (Truth, Unity, and Love)

This moment represents more than a new affiliation—it is a renewed connection to the Augustinian tradition that helped guide Archbishop Prendergast for Boys in its earliest years, when Augustinian priests and educators first led and formed the school community. In many ways, this step feels like a homecoming.

Our journey to ASEA membership began several years ago through the leadership of Dr. John Cooke and the late Father John Stack, O.S.A. '65, and continued in collaboration with Father Rob Hagan, O.S.A., and our Augustinian partners. With the full support of our Board of Directors and the IHM Sisters, this milestone reflects a shared commitment to our mission and future.

To hear more about what this means for our students and community, we invite you to watch a special message from Dr. Cooke.

On this meaningful anniversary, we celebrate not only where we come from—but who we are called to be.
