Learning Legacy: James Doran '25

This week’s Learning Legacy celebrates a house of B&P alums! Incoming freshman James Doran is the son of Chris Doran ‘88, who attended Saint Louis School, and Cassandra Carrigan Doran ‘90, who attended Saint Monica’s School. James’ sister Evelyn is a current senior in the Class of 2021! James, coming from Our Lady of Angels Regional School, was selected to receive a Distinguished Achiever & Believer Scholarship Award for his essay on Father Bill Atkinson. James will read his essay at our Freshman Awards Ceremony in the Fall.
“I’m excited to make memories like the ones that my parents have shared with me growing up,” says James. Aside from his parents, other siblings and cousins within the Doran family have gone through B&P, including: Edward Kenny ‘70, William Kenney ‘75, Jeffrey Kenney ‘77, Kelly Doran ‘98, and Meighan Doran ‘98.
Chris and Cassandra have remained active in the B&P Community over the years, helping with choir fundraisers and musical performances. And if you’re a fan of Friars Basketball and Football, you’d recognize Chris’ voice as our P.A. announcer! Chris and Cassandra also serve as Parent Ambassadors, assisting the Admissions Office during Open House events.
When reflecting on what they’re most looking forward to during James’ time at B&P, Chris and Cassandra tell us they’re eager to watch James “make his own path and history within the school while leaving it a better place than he found it the first day he walked through those doors.”
