Personal Information

Maria began teaching Special Education for the Delaware County Intermediate Unit in 1996 in their elementary program for Emotionally Disturbed students. She then went out to Chester County and taught Life Skills, Learning Support, and Elementary Education for Owen J Roberts School District. She then returned to DCIU and taught at the high school program called The County Alternative High School.

After taking several years off to raise her 2 boys she returned to begin a career in real estate. After 6 years in real estate, Maria felt the pull to return to Catholic Education.

Maria spends her free time watching her oldest son, a member of the Bonner Prendie Class of 2022, play baseball and basketball. She also coaches her youngest son, an 8th grader at Sacred Heart in Manoa, and hopefully a member of the Bonner & Prendie Class of 2026. Maria is also coaching the high school CYO girls team at Sacred Heart Parish in Manoa.

In addition, Maria is an active volunteer in both her children's school communities and within Haverford Township. She is co-chair for the St. Aloysius Academy GALA, and serves on the Parks and Recreation Board for Haverford

Why Bonner and Prendergast?

I feel so blessed to be able to teach in a Catholic community like Bonner & Prendie! I knew that I wasn't going to just go back to teaching just anywhere; I knew I would only do it if I could find the right fit. And being at Bonner & Prendie, I know I found it! Walking through the halls and seeing the students and staff participating in all that Bonner & Prendie has to offer, I am confident that I have found a home here. These halls that are steeped in the Catholic tradition and alive with the presence of the Holy Spirit are preparing our students to accomplish greatness, and I am excited to be a part of it!
