Personal Information

Mr. Luke was born and raised in Upper Darby. He hails from a large family steeped heavily in the Philadelphia sports teams. A lifelong student, Mr. Luke realized his potential for becoming an educator during his own time at Bonner while in high school.

Mr. Luke received his undergrad from West Chester University and immediately started as a substitute teacher in the Upper Darby School District for a few years. It was here that Mr. Luke met his future wife. Having learned from some of the best minds around, Mr. Luke moved into the city to hone his craft and managed to achieve a few life-goals along the way: he received his master’s from St. Joe’s; taught for a few years in the Philadelphia School District; got his first dog, Indiana; and spent some time managing small businesses. Now, Mr. Luke is back in the area and excited to start a new chapter in his life. He and his wife live in Montgomery County, but they still have family in the area and you might catch them at a local Wawa. Mr. Luke is an avid writer and a ravenous reader. It is the student inside Mr. Luke who strives to realize the great William Butler Yeats’ famous words, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."

Why Bonner & Prendergast?

I come from a legacy of Bonner & Prendie grads. Both of my parents graduated from this institution, and I myself am an ’03 Bonner grad. There is a sense of community that my family has found within these walls that only those within fully understand. I look to make the most of this opportunity and give back to this great institution while simultaneously coaching the next generation with morals and values not found elsewhere.
