Personal Information

Mr. Kershner has been teaching at Bonner & Prendergast for 16 years!  Mr. Kershner graduated from Saint James High School in 1969.  He then attended Philadelphia University and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a minor in Behavioral Science.  Upon graduation he was employed by Mobil Oil Corporation in the Accounting Division.  In 1974, an opportunity arose to teach Accounting and Economics at his Alma Mater Saint James High School, in Chester.  He taught there from 1974 through 1980 when he re-entered the corporate world in a sales and Marketing capacity.  Mr. Kershner remained in the corporate world until  September 1997, when he returned to teach Business Education at Archbishop Prendergast High School .  It gives Mr. Kershner great satisfaction to bring so many years of real world experience to the classroom, to share with our future leaders. In addition to this experience, he also attended the Delaware County Police Academy for forty-four weeks and graduated at the top of the class in December 1992. Since then he has been employed as a patrolman.  When he began his tenure at Archbishop Prendergast High School, he served as a police officer for the Boro of Darby. In December of 1999, Mr. Kershner moved to the Yeadon Police Department as a police officer and remains there in that capacity at the current time.

The positive atmosphere that so many students create, makes it enjoyable to teach at Bonner & Prendie.  Teaching is very challenging, but the students make it so worthwhile. Yes, at times it seems difficult but it is very rewarding to see the end result.
