Dr. Joanne Werts is a 1969 graduate of Archbishop Prendergast, as well as an alumna of St. Bernadette grade school. She graduated with a B.S. in Zoology from The Pennsylvania State University in 1973, and a Ph.D. in Zoology with a minor in Mathematics (Statistics) from Duke University in 1980. She later earned Secondary Education Certification in Biology and General Science at St. Joseph University, and in Earth and Space Science at West Chester University. Dr. Werts joined the Prendie faculty in December 1990. She has taught Biology, AP Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physical Science, Physics and Advanced Computer Applications.
Why Bonner & Prendergast?
I received an unexpected call to fill a Physics/Chemistry opening in December, 1990. I never did decide whether I was more surprised by how much was the same or how much had changed in twenty years, but I felt as though I had come home.
